Ongoing Programs & Events

Join us for stories, rhymes, and songs! Check our schedule to see current times and dates.
  • Book Babies – For children 0-24 months and their caregivers.
  • Storytime for 2s & 3s – For children 2-3 years and their caregivers.
  • Wild About Books! – For children 4-6 years with or without a caregiver.
  • Pajama Storytime – A monthly evening storytime for children ages 3-7 and their families.
  • ¡Hola Niños! – Spanish storytime for children 3-6  years and their caregivers.
  • Bonjour les amis! – French stortime for children 2-5 years and their caregivers.
  • Sensory Storytime – For children ages 3-5 with Autism Spectrum or Sensory Processing Disorder.  Registration required.

Book Groups
Registration for each book group meeting occurs when the upcoming book is checked out from the Children’s Desk.
  • Book Buddies – for kids in Kindergarten and 1st grade.
  • Crazy for Comics – graphic-novel book club for kids in grades 2-4.
  • American Girls Book Club – for kids in grades 2-4.
  • Girls Night Out – for girls ages 10-13 and their moms or other caring female adults.
  • Just For Guys – for boys ages 10-13 and their dads or other caring male adults.
  • Kids Lit – for adults interested in reading and discussing children’s literature.

Lego Club
Children ages 7-12 can make lego structures and be creative! Space is limited; registration is required.

Chess Club
Children in Kindergarten through 7th grade are invited to play chess and learn more about the game. Players of all skill levels are welcome at this monthly program.

Wii Wednesdays
Middle Schoolers can come to the library after school to test their Wii skills with new and old games!

Tail Waggin’ Tutors
Children can read aloud to a furry friend! Dog listeners are trained by Therapy Dogs International. This monthly program is wonderful practice for both experienced and developing readers. Space is limited; registration is required.

Open Art Studio Saturdays
On the first Saturday of every month, stop by the Children’s Library between 9:30 and 4:30 to explore your creativity and make a simple art project to take home.

Tuesday Crafternoons
An afternoon craft program for kids ages 4-8.

Out of the Box
An afternoon program for homeschoolers. Come try your hand at creative, open-ended, problem-solving activities. 

Little Achievers' Wee Play Group
All children 18-36 months old are invited to a one hour monthly play group hosted by the ACHIEVA Support Early Intervention program. The purpose of the group is simply to play and to socialize with peers! Parents or caregivers must stay and participate with their children. Registration required at

Family Programs
Throughout the year, the Children’s Library holds fun programs and events for the whole family! Past programs have included sing-alongs, nature programs, craft programs, holiday programs, an annual Pet Show, and Star Wars Day! Check our events calendar for upcoming family programs.
