August 3: Aaron Lewinter, Jazz Guitar. Aaron was born in Pittsburgh, PA and studied at Berklee College of Music. Aaron was inspired by solo, duo, and trio jazz guitar of Wes Montgomery, Jim Hall, Tal Farlow, Jimmy Raney and Braney Kessel. He has played in jazz big bands and small trio situations.
August 10: Mary and Cal. From jazz to blues to pop, Mary and Cal cover all of these styles tastefully as a duo with unique arrangements of classics and new music.
August 17: Squirrel Hillbillies. From deep within the urban forest of Pittsburgh's East End, the Squirrel Hillbillies often emerge to share their eclectic mix of folk, country and blues.
August 24: Red Beans & Rice Combo. A very cool mix of classic New Orleans R&B, 50’s rock ala Jerry Lee Lewis and Chuck Berry, Mose Allison, Tom Waits, Slim Galliard and Louis Jordan—SUPER FUN TUNES! The Combo features the world celebrated early jazz stride pianist, Tom Roberts (a Foxburg regular) on piano, whistling, & vocals, along with Dave Klug on drums and his custom-built “Kluger Soundboard,” and Wayno on vocals, harmonica, & ukulele.
August 31: Mt. Lebanon High String Quartet under the direction of orchestra director Robert Vogel, wraps up the series with light classics, Broadway hits, and classic popular songs—the perfect entertainment for a warm summer evening.
