Library Road Trip
Take an Allegheny County Public Library Road Trip!
The Allegheny County Library Association (ACLA) is offering a special opportunity for library patrons to explore the dozens of libraries in suburban Allegheny County. Each one offers something different to their community. You never know what you might discover! You will use a passport to collect stamps at each library visited.
For each new library, you will receive a small prize. Participants who visit all libraries in a region (as indicated by color) will receive an additional prize. Those that visit all of the libraries listed are eligible for a grand prize.
Participants will need a Library Road Trip Passport to participate in this program, which you can pick up at the adult reference desk or print out here. You will also find a list of all eligible stops.
On each visit to an Allegheny County Library, you can ask at the adult reference desk to get a library stamp that indicates your library visit. The stamp will be placed in the space by the library's name in which you visited. You will also receive a coupon from the library for a percentage off at Spark Books.
There are additional incentives for visiting more libraries:
For each region (south, north, east and west) a person completes, they will receive a small swag bag from ACLA. Take a photo of your passport with the region completed stamps clearly showing. Email this photo to acla@aclalibraries.org and ACLA will arrange for your tote bag prize to be sent to a library convenient for you to pick up.
For completing the entire county, you will receive a free book of your choosing at Spark Books. Send a photo of the completed passport to acla@aclalibraries.org and ACLA will send you a certificate to redeem at Spark Books.
Spark Books is a longtime ACLA partner, collaborating with ACLA youth services for StoryWalks, Picture Book Children’s Choice Awards, Children’s Choice Awards and other programs. The bookstore is located in Aspinwall. The store specializes in children’s literature, but titles for all ages are available both in-store and online.
Before visiting each location, remember to check the library website for more information, including hours and any special programs that might be of interest.

Happy Exploring!
